Learning a New Language, and Overcoming Challenges

Learning Java for Android has been quite the experience over the last year. I finally am confident that I can make apps for Android effectively after today’s victory. I have been trying to build an audio player for an app for a long time now, and I finally realized that code examples for Android are not as useful online as they are for iOS. Everyone has their way of doing things, and they aren’t exactly standard. I ended up building my own player, which could work better admittedly, but it works, and this makes me very excited. The issue lately has been that Java doesn’t have a way to play playlists like m3u files, so I ended up building my own since the Java media player doesn’t support it like Apple does out of the box. All in all, I have enjoyed the experience programming for Android, and can’t wait to bring more apps to the platform.
